U2 announce “iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE” world tour

on December 03, 2014, 9:15am

Looks like Bono is getting back on the bike horse: U2 has announced a massive world arena tour for 2015. Dubbed the “iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE” tour, the 19-city, 44-date jaunt comes in support of the band’s latest LP, Songs of Innocence, as well as its forthcoming sequel, Songs of Experience.

Just as you couldn’t avoid the album if you tried, it’ll be hard to miss the Irish rockers on the road as they’ll be playing multiple nights at some of the world’s most popular venues, including Madison Square Garden in New York City, The Staples Center in Los Angeles, United Center in Chicago, and The O2 Arena in London. Presumably, further dates will be announced as the initial shows sell out.

The multi-night stands will mark Bono’s return to the stage after a nasty bike accident forced the band to postpone a week-long residency on The Tonight Show. Just this week, the rest of the band performed live at a surprise World AIDS Day concert in Times Square, with Bruce Springsteen and Coldplay’s Chris Martin filling in for Bono.

Fan pre-sales will take place beginning Thursday, December 4th, with a general on-sale following on Monday, December 8th. Find the full docket for the “iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE” tour below, followed by footage of the band performing “Volcano” on Jools Holland (aka the last time someone not named Jimmy Fallon, Chris Martin, or Bruce Springsteen performed “as” U2).
