When it came time to cast the four female leads for the forthcoming Ghostbusters film, director Paul Feig called Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, all four actress have signed on — or are in final negotiations — for the film, which could begin shooting as soon as this summer in New York City.

Update: Ghostbusters will be released on July 22nd, 2016.

Both McCarthy and Wiig saw their careers take off following their respective roles in the Feig-directed Bridesmaids. McKinnon and Jones, meanwhile, are current cast members on Saturday Night Live. Jones also recently appeared in the Chris Rock film Top Five.

As previously reported, Feig’s Ghostbusters will be more of a reboot than a sequel, with the characters experiencing ghosts for the first time. Feig explained, “There’s something fun about introducing our world, which has never seen ghosts to the phenomenon of ghosts. I love origin stories and to introduce new characters.”
