Less than two weeks before Red Hot Chili Peppers were due to perform at the 2014 Super Bowl, the internet gifted us with a clever RHCP parody song. Entitled “Abracadabralifornia”, the track proved a hilariously dead-on imitation of the alt rockers, so much so that it led our own Editor-in-Chief Michael Roffman to call it the “best new Chili Peppers song in 10 years.” Now, with the 2015 Super Bowl on the horizon, comedian Tim Heidecker (of Tim & Eric fame) has delivered a new parody song of his own, spoofing this year’s halftime show headlinersKaty Perry and Lenny Kravitz.

While “Abracadabralifornia” drew its absurd brilliance from its on-point Peppers parroting — seriously, just try and slap that on an RHCP playlist and see if anyone flinches — this Perry “leaked Super Bowl Song” is just … well … straight-up absurd. As in it’s 124 seconds of ridiculous pop fodder. As in it doesn’t remotely resemble Teenage Dream, PRISMOne of the Boys, or heck, even some acid-trip remix bundle of all three. Although I’m not quite sure it even counts as music, it’s still a funny as heck pop culture bit, and, at the very least, should lower your expectations come February 1st. Though, to be fair, Perry is a pretty great performer.
