Katy Perry will be accompanied by a special guest when she takes the gridiron stage for the Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show. The NFL has announced that guitarist Lenny Kravitz will join the pop megastar.
Kravitz, who released Strut late last year, will be filling the rock ‘n’ roll quota Halftime Show producer Pepsi has apparently set for itself. If you recall, last year saw Bruno Mars performing with Red Hot Chili Peppers and pulling in more viewers than the actual game. Perhaps Kravitz will actually plug in his instrument this time around?
Perry retweeted the announcement, adding that the show “can’t come soon enough!” She’s got about two weeks to go, as NBC will broadcast the game and performance on February 1st.
