A prequel television series to the cult comedy classic Wet Hot American Summer is officially in the works.
“Virtually the entire ensemble cast” from the original 2001 film, including Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd, Bradley Cooper, Elizabeth Banks, Michael Ian Black, and H. Jon Benjamin, are said to be appearing in the eight-episode series, which will air on Netflix. These actors will reportedly be playing high-school-age characters (despite the fact many are currently in their 40s).
The film’s director, David Wain, will helm the TV series using a script he co-wrote with Michael Showalter. Filming reportedly began this week.
