PJ Harvey will soon begin work on a brand new studio album, her first since 2011’s Let England Shake, but there’s a twist: Recording will take place in a live setting as part of an art exhibition called Recording in Progress.
Between January 16th and February 14th, fans will be able to watch Harvey record her ninth LP from inside a custom-built studio at London’s Somerset House. She’ll be working with producers Flood and John Parish.
“I want Recording in Progress to operate as if we’re an exhibition in a gallery,” Harvey said of the project. “I hope visitors will be able to experience the flow and energy of the recording process.”
