Sylvester Stallone will portray two of his most legendary characters in a pair of new films. The actor has confirmed plans for a new Rambo film as well as a Rocky spin-off called Creed.
Creed, which will begin filming in early 2015, stars Michael B. Jordan as Apollo Creed’s grandson Adonis Creed. Rocky Balboa (played by Stallone) has been enlisted to train Adonis for a fight. The film is scheduled to hit theaters in 2016.
Following production of Creed, Stallone will begin filming Rambo 5: Last Blood. Stallone, who wrote the film himself, has described it as his “version of No Country for Old Men.” The plot will apparently see super solider John Rambo taking on a Mexican drug cartel.
Also in the works for Stallone is a biopic on Colombo crime family capo Gregory Scarpa. He announced all three upcoming projects via Twitter, which was accompanied by a photo of his writing lair.
