When Ben Gibbard stepped onto the stage for his performance at San Francisco’s Noise Pop last night, he announced the he wouldn’t be able to play any instruments due to a broken hand. Thankfully, Sun Kil Moon’s Mark Kozelek was there to fill in.
With additional accompaniment from Death Cab for Cutie bandmate Zac Rae, the duo worked through a number of Death Cab numbers, but the real highlight came in the closing performance of “Such Great Heights” by The Postal Service. Below, watch crowd-shot footage of the acoustic version of the fan-favorite track, and the performance of DCFC’s latest single “Black Sun”. You can find the full setlist here.
