Dan Deacon premieres new single “Learning to Relax”, plus North American tour dates — listen

on February 11, 2015, 11:35am

During last year’s tour opening up for Arcade Fire, electronic composer Dan Deacon debuted a track called “Learning to Relax” that quickly became a staple of his live show. Now, that song serves as central focus of the “direct and ecstatic energy” that is the Baltimore native’s latest long-player Gliss Riffer.

Press for “Learning to Relax” describes it as one of several album cuts that epitomizes a central theme of “reveling in equal parts exuberant uncontained good times as well as dramatic flair.” It’s that dichotomy that’s central to the track, as the dynamic between the lithe harmonies and the endless cascade of synths proves to be as warm and life-affirming as it is intense and physically jarring. Listen in below.

Gliss Riffer is due out February 24th via Domino. For more, check out lead single “Feel the Lightning”.

Gliss Riffer Tracklist:
01. Feel the Lightning
02. Sheathed Wings
03. When I Was Done Dying
04. Meme Generator
05. Mind On Fire
06. Learning to Relax
