Rihanna was one of the finalists to headline this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, but when the NFL opted for Katy Perry, DirectTV swooped in. The satellite TV company paired Rhi Rhi with Kanye West for its annual Super Bowl pre-party concert. (The event was previously headlined by Jay Z and Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, and Perry herself.)
Kanye and Rihanna performed both solo and together: They teamed up for “Diamonds” and “All of the Lights”, and Kanye also served as hype man for several Rihanna solo performances. The concert also saw the live debut of Kanye’s new single “Only One”, though they passed up on the opportunity to perform their collaborative track “FourFiveSeconds”.
