Penguin Prison shares new song “Never Gets Old” — listen

While a student at Bard College, Chris Glover played ironic rock music in a band called “Smartest People at Bard.” When that group gained a seemingly unlikely following, however, Glover found himself motivated enough to make an actual go of things and sent his demo tape to A Tribe Called Quest’s Q-Tip. He eventually landed a deal with Interscope and launched an electro-pop project called Penguin Prison. In the years since, he’s made a name for himself with a series of A-list remixes — from Lana Del Rey to Maroon 5 — and energetic performances at festivals like Fun Fun Fun and Bonaroo alongside his full backing band.

Now, Glover is gearing up to release his sophomore album, due out May 5th via Downtown Records. Our first preview comes with “Never Gets Old”, a dose of lively and feverish synthpop. After flourishes of lush keys and a funk-inspired bassline set the mode, Glover effortlessly slides in with lusty crooning about living in the moment with his lover. Listen in below.
