Rone shares new song “Sir Orfeo” featuring Sea Oleena — listen

on February 02, 2015, 11:20am

French producer Rone may not be a household name in the States, but he keeps company with some of the electronic genre’s biggest names. The lush beats on his first two albums earned him fans ranging from trip-hop torchbearers Massive Attack to acid house legend Sasha. He even programmed some sequences on The National’s last record, Trouble Will Find Me. Now, he’s back to focusing on his own material with the release of his third album Creatures, due out February 10th via Infiné Music.

The latest track from the LP, “Sir Orfeo”, sees Rone collaborating with Monteal-based singer Sea Oleena. The lush and dreamy undertones of Oleena’s vocals help expand upon the song’s slow, meandering intro. When the beat picks up speed halfway through, with synths rumbling and keyboards dripping with sensuous energy, Rone and Oleena achieve a distinct kind of synergy and emotional harmony. Listen in below.

For more from Creatures, check out the previously released single “Elle”, featuring The National’s Bryce Dessner.
