On May 12th, The Beets co-founder Juan Wauters will release his latest solo album through Captured Tracks. Entitled Who Me?, the 13-track effort follows his 2014 solo debut N.A.P. North American Poetry. In anticipation, the singer-songwriter’s let loose the album cut “She Might Get Shot”.

Whereas The Beets mastered the art of goofy garage rock (see 2011’s Let The Poison Out), Wauters’ folk-pop stylings on the new track are decidedly less clamorous. Still, he retains some of the jokey humor of his old band, with his playful lyricism reminiscent of fellow troubadour and former tourmate Mac DeMarco. Listen in below.
