Arcade Fire’s Will Butler planned on writing a new track about the BRIT Awards for the latest installment of his song-a-day project with The Guardian. However, something actually more pressing loomed larger than the awards ceremony that gave us Kanye’s “All Day” and Madonna’s infamous spill: the discovery of a black hole 12 billion times larger than the sun and nearly as old as the universe.
“I’m not terrified were going to get sucked into a black hole,” Butler wrote of the epic scientific finding. “I’m terrified that all of human art is only 50,000 years old and that nothing anything any of us do will ever matter. jk lol Bwahahahhahahahhaha. Madonna can’t save us now.” He contemplates the black hole and humanity’s existence on a song fittingly titled “Madonna Can’t Save Me Now”. Listen in below.
