Last year, Will Ferrell proved himself an agile drummer, as he went head-to-head with doppelgänger and Red Hot Chili Peppers percussionist Chad Smith in quite possibly the most epic drum battle ever. Now, the Anchorman has demonstrated that he’s got an ear (or mouth, rather) for Top 40 pop, masterfully lip syncing Beyoncé’s “Drunk In Love” on last night’s special episode of The Tonight Show.
Though Ferrell opted for a Seahawks hoodie instead of Queen Bey’s sand-covered bikini (a wardrobe decision that was probably for the best), he didn’t skimp on the sexy moves. Throughout his hilarious “performance,” there was much booty-shaking, flawless posing, enticing stares, and an especially on-point lip sync of “Ohhh bayybehhh.” And yes, if you must know, Ferrell did feel himself up many times. Perhaps the best part of the whole thing was when the track’s beat finally dropped and the Blades of Glory star offered his best impression of Beyoncé’s bouncy swagger. Hint: It involved a lot of randomly flailing arms. Watch it below.
Later on in the sketch, Ferrell also tried his hand at the Frozen hit “Let It Go”. Meanwhile, his lip sync battle competitors Jimmy Fallon and Kevin Hart chipped in with renditions of Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone” and John Legend’s “All Of Me”.
In related Tonight Show news, Fallon enlisted a star-studded a cappella cover of Queen’s “We Are The Champions” featuring Sam Smith, Ariana Grande, The Roots, Usher, and more. Check that out here.
