Beach Boys mastermind Brian Wilson will be honored with an all-star tribute concert later this month. Coinciding with the release of The Beach Boys frontman’s 11th solo album, No Pier Pressure, Brian Fest: A Night to Celebrate the Music of Brian Wilson is set for March 30th at Los Angeles’ Fonda Theatre.
The evening will feature performances from Norah Jones, The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers, Ann Wilson of Heart, Wayne Coyne and Steve Drozd of The Flaming Lips, Devendra Banhart, M. Ward, Al Jardine, Boz Scaggs, Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast, Joy Williams, Local Natives, Sebu Simonian of Capital Cities, Doyle Bramhall II, Wilson Phillips, Karen Elson, Jade Castrinos, Adam Busch and Danny Masterson, and Gingger Shankar. Wilson himself is also scheduled to make an appearance.
The all-star lineup will perform selections from Wilson’s iconic catalog with accompaniment from The Cabin Down Below Band. Tickets go on sale this Thursday, March 5th and proceeds will benefit the Sweet Relief Musician Fund.
Meanwhile, Wilson’s No Pier Pressure is set for an April 7th release via Capitol Records. The album features duets with the likes of She & Him; Simonian; Kacey Musgraves; fun.’s Nate Ruess; and Wilson’s Beach Boys bandmates Al Jardine, David Marks, and Blondie Chaplin. Also forthcoming is a biopic about Wilson, Love & Mercy, set to hit theaters on May 5th.
