Last week, Björk shared the futuristic visual for “Lionsong”, a highlight off her latest album, Vulnicura. Now, the Icelandic songstress has unveiled a video — or more specifically, a “moving album cover” — honoring the physical release of the LP.
Helmed by Björk and artist Andrew Thomas Huang, known for his work on Björk’s MoMA retrospective centerpiece Black Lake and forthcoming “Stonemilker” clip for Oculus Rift, it sees the bizarre artwork for Vulnicura’s physical version brought to life. Accompanied by the album track “Family”, it’s a gooey, unsettling, and yet eerily inspirational look at Björk as she’s “reborn” literally through some kind of volcanic process. Watch below.
The physical version of Vulnicura is due out on March 24th in the US through One Little Indian.
