Franz Ferdinand and Sparks form FFS, annonce tour dates

on March 09, 2015, 10:00am

Scottish dance-rockers Franz Ferdinand and LA glam rock outfit Sparks have joined forces as the newly formed FFS. The collaboration was first made public at a Sparks show in LA earlier in the year, but now the band has officially announced a string of European tour dates and shared a teaser of new music.

“This all started coming together when both our bands played Coachella two years ago,” Franz Ferdinand’s Alex Kapranos told Pop & Hiss at that LA gig. The bands were in San Francisco around their festival dates and talked about recording a song together. “A lot of times people say that, and nothing ever happens, but they followed up, and we started exchanging ideas, and pretty quickly we had six songs worked up and realized, ‘This is going to be an album.’”

You can hear a tease of that album in the video below; it’s titled “The Domino Effect”, though it’s unclear if this is the song, the album, or perhaps both. Underneath the 30-second clip, find FFS’s official tour schedule, which concludes with a stop at Lollapalooza Berlin.
