Today, Jay Electronica has shared a new song called “Road to Perdition” featuring Jay Z. Though technically a previously unheard track, its origins seem to date back to a 2012 tracklist for Electronica’s never-released Act II: Patent Of Nobility. Some fans speculate it may even be five years old.
Still, Electronica sounds fresh and insightful here, and Hov’s rhymes (actually ad-libs taken from American Gangster’s “Success”) fit into the mix nicely. While it’s unclear exactly how “new” this version is, it’s worth noting that the original was supposed to clock in 2:17 and this one’s over three minutes long. Could it be a sign that Electronica’s finally going to put out an album? Fingers crossed. Check it out below.
