Thus far, all previews of Warner Bros.’s upcoming Mad Max: Fury Road have been focused on the stunning visuals from the film’s “feature-length chase scene.” But in the latest trailer, we become privy to more of the movie’s plot.
It seems Max (Tom Hardy) has left a city with Furiosa (Charlize Theron), against the wishes of the city’s ruler, Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne). Together with a group of women whom Joe sees as his “property,” Max and Furiosa must cross the desert and survive being hunted by Joe’s vicious army of road warriors.
Of course, the two-and-a-half minute trailer still features plenty of mind-blowing action shots, so take a look below.
Written and directed by franchise mastermind George Miller, Mad Max: Fury Road hits theaters May 15th. Starring alongside Hardy, Theron, and Keays-Byrne are Zoë Kravitz and Nicholas Hoult.
