Stream: Twin Shadow’s new album Eclipse

on March 08, 2015, 10:46pm

George Lewis Jr., aka Twin Shadow, will release his third studio album, Eclipse, on March 17th via Warner Bros. Records. In anticipation, it’s streaming in full at NPR.

The 11-track effort follows 2012’s Confess and marks Lewis’ first major label release. Lewis worked on the record during a turbulent time in his life when his father was in a mental hospital. Though these trying feelings are on the album, Lewis also stresses themes of positivity and redemption throughout. In addition, he has praised the benefits of switching over to a major label for financial help as well as insight and input into his evolution as an artist.

“I kind of feel, if anything, the difference is Confess-era me was a bit removed, jaded,” Lewis said in an interview with Stereogum. “Now I feel like I’m hyperaware, hypersensitive, back to being a more emotional person acting more on my impulses. Having freak outs and real moments of clarity. I feel more dynamic in a way.”

Watch the video for the album’s lead single, “Turn Me Up”, below. Pre-orders are ongoing.
