Beastie Boys’ Ad-Rock appears on The Daily Show, and Jon Stewart has a total nerdgasam — watch

on April 14, 2015, 8:30am

Like David Letterman, Jon Stewart will soon end his reign as host of one of the most celebrated late-night programs in America’s television canon. Though he has yet to reveal his final guests, presumably Stewart got to check off one name from his bucketlist on last night’s episode of The Daily Show.

For 10 minutes on Monday night, Stewart went toe-to-toe with Beastie Boys’ Adam ‘Ad-Rock’ Horovitz, joking about everything from coffee mugs, to collecting vinyl records, to wearing hats. Eventually, Stewart admitted, “You realize what this is … so you’re one of my favorite performers of all time and I’ve never had a chance to hang out with you. So we’re having a tender moment, but the interview ended 10 minutes ago, so this is all me keeping you here … because I don’t know if I’ll ever get this chance again.”

“Also, he’s in some fucking movie,” Stewart added, his only reference the entire segment to While We’re Young, the film Ad-Rock was there to promote.
