Update: Blur to play Jimmy Fallon, free NYC show

on April 28, 2015, 12:20pm

Blur previously said they would only consider touring America if their new album was well-received commercially. While fans have to wait a few more days before they can get their hands on a copy of The Magic Whip, the band went ahead and booked a Transatlantic flight anyways.

The Britpop icons will serve as the musical guest for the April 30th episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. It marks their first stateside performance since they headlined Coachella in 2013.

No word on any additional American dates, but Blur has lined up a whole bunch for other parts of the globe. You can see their current tour docket below.

Update: Blur will play a free show at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg on Friday, May 1st, marking their first concert in New York City in 15 years. Their set will feature a full performance of The Magic Whip. Registration for free tickets will be available beginning Wednesday, April 29th at 12 p.m. EST for fans at Converse-Music.com/Blur.

The Magic Whip arrives April 28th through Warner Bros. Records. It’s currently streaming in full.
