Jurassic World, the fourth installment in the Jurassic Park film franchise and first since 2001’s Jurassic Park III, hits theaters on June 12th. Already, we’ve seen several trailers and one impressive website that operates as if it was an actual theme park. Now, Universal has unlocked the first clip of the film via MTV.
Director Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) must be keeping things close to the vest — well, not too close as we’ve seen from the trailer — because there are absolutely no dinosaurs in this clip. Instead, the two-minute scene follows stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard as they essentially flirt over meditations on life and tequila. Watch it below.
Taking place 22 years after the events of Jurassic Park, Jurassic World sees Isla Nublar a fully functioning dinosaur theme park as originally envisioned by John Hammond. After 10 years of operation and visitor rates declining, in order to fulfill a corporate mandate, a new attraction is created to re-spark visitor’s interest, which backfires horribly.
Steven Spielberg, who helmed the first two Jurassic Park films, serves as an executive producer.
