On April 18th, eight legendary artists, including Lou Reed, Ringo Starr, and Green Day, will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Today, the Rock Hall has announced that Miley Cyrus will have the honor of inducting Joan Jett and the Blackhearts during the institution’s 30th annual ceremony.
Cyrus joins Patti Smith, who will posthumously induct her friend Reed, and Paul McCartney, who is set to invite his fellow Beatle Starr into the Rock Hall as a solo artist. Other presenters include Stevie Wonder, inducting Bill Withers; Fall Out Boy, inducting Green Day; and John Mayer, who will induct Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Beck, Karen O., and Nate Ruess from fun. are scheduled to perform in honor of Lou Reed. John Legend, The Eagles’ Joe Walsh, and Dave Grohl, who was welcomed into the Rock Hall last year with Nirvana, will also perform at the ceremony.
HBO will premiere a broadcast of the event on May 30th.
