As this is possibly the final year of Smashing Pumpkins, Billy Corgan has been going balls-to-the wall of late. Earlier this week, he announced a co-headlining tour with Marilyn Manson, which he promoted last night with an appearance on The Tonight Show, and again this morning, on Good Morning America.
For the Fallon performance, Corgan and guitarist Jeff Schroeder were joined by The Killers’ Mark Stoermer on bass and Rage Against the Machine’s Brad Wilk on drums. They played “Drum + Fife”, the latest single from Monuments to an Elegy.
Meanwhile, on Good Morning America, Corgan and Schroeder played an acoustic rendition of “Drum + Fife”. They also sat down for a brief, very awkward interview during which Corgan lamented over the album’s lackluster sales. Watch the performance here, and the interview here.
