Brandon Flowers argues The Killers are the best band to emerge in the last 15 years

This week marks the release of Brandon Flowers’ latest solo album, The Desired Effect. However, the Las Vegas singer recently took the time to hype up his old band, The Killers, and remind folks of their important legacy.

“Whether the people want to accept it or not, we might be the best band in the last long time,” Flowers said in a new interview with The Independent, adding, “I’d go up any night against just about any band that’s come out in the last 15 years.”

Flowers also argued that the Hot Fuss indie rockers, who’ve nabbed a total of seven Grammy nominations since 2005, haven’t been given enough credit. “Not that it’s a competition, but I do feel sometimes people don’t have a grasp on what we’ve accomplished and what we’ve acquired.”

Judging by his choice words about Kanye West and his take-down of musicians that plagiarize, it seems the world in which Flowers lives really does seem to be ruled by The Killers.

Elsewhere in that same Independent interview, the frontman confessed that he’s been saving his facial hair for the last seven years.

Below, revisit a few tracks from supposedly one of the best acts of the last two decades:
