Dev Hynes has shared a surprise 45-minute mix of new music. According to the artist/producer, the untitled collection was originally supposed to be part of a film score, but then he was let go from the project.
It’s a little hard to believe that anyone would refuse Hynes’ talent — did they never hear the genius of “Everything Is Embarrassing”? “All That”? The score for James Franco’s Palo Alto? It’s not a total loss, however; now we have almost an hour’s worth of brooding, meditative compositions all to ourselves!
Listen to the whole mix below, followed by Hynes’ accompanying note.
I spent the last few months working on a film score, then I got fired. No hard feelings. Here’s some of the music. Listen & zone out if you want. Painting by Alice Lancaster.
