New details have emerged regarding The Lonely Island’s Judd Apatow-produced feature-length film. Deadline reports that the comedic trio’s Hollywood debut is called Conner4Real and features a cast including Sarah Silverman, Imogen Poots, and Tim Meadows.
As previously reported, the film “takes aim on the fluffy music documentaries of recent years such as Justin Bieber’s Never Say Never and Katy Perry’s Part of Me. It centers on a rapper whose latest album bombs and he must do the unthinkable: a reunion concert with his former boy band,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
All three members of The Lonely Island — And Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone — will star in the film, with Schaffer and Taccone also directing. Meadows will play the rapper’s manager, Silverman his publicist, and Poots his love interest.
Conner4Real is expected to hit theaters in 2016. Below, revisit The Lonely Island’s “YOLO” featuring Kendrick Lamar.
