This afternoon, Chance the Rapper staged the TIP Fest at Chicago’s Northerly Island. Admittance to the free event was limited to high school and college students between the ages of 13 and 24, and featured a headlining set from Chance’s Social Experiment compadre Donnie Trumpet. Of course, the rapper was bound to show up, but he also brought along another surprise guest: Kendrick Lamar.
Just weeks after sharing the stage together at Bonnaroo with Earth, Wind & Fire, hip-hop’s two most acclaimed MCs hyped up the Chicago crowd with a pair of Kendrick’s tracks. Below, check crowd shot video (and as you can see, everyone was shooting video) of “m.A.A.d. city” and “i”.
