David Byrne, St. Vincent, Ad-Rock and more premiere new music at Contemporary Color performance — watch

David Byrne’s Contemporary Color had its debut Monday evening at Toronto’s Luminato Festival. The show featured 10 color guard teams performing routines to brand new songs orchestrated by Byrne and some of his pals. St. VincentBeastie Boys’ Ad-Rock and Money MarkHow to Dress Well, Dev Hynes, Zola Jesus, Nelly Furtado, and tUnE-yArDs were all on hand for the show, each debuting completely original material written specifically for this one-of-a-kind performance.

Byrne himself teamed with Lucius on a moving song called “I Was Changed”.  St. Vincent uncovered “Everyone You Know Will Go Away”, while Ad-Rock and Money Mark debuted “Quattro Mentos”. Dev Hynes delivered “Black Watch”, and Furtado gave the world premiere of “World Premiere”.

The show’s second performance took place Tuesday night at the same venue, and with it came new clips of St. Vincent and Lucius. Check those out below.
