This July, reunited hardcore band Death From Above 1979 will embark on one of the most anticipated tours of the summer when they join Deftones and Incubus for a string of dates. Prior to that, however, they’ll make a special stop at Third Man Records in Nashville, where they’ll record a live show directly to acetate.

Scheduled for July 16th, the concert will be cut live onto fresh lacquer. From there, Third Man will press vinyl copies of the show for a live LP release. Ostensibly in support of their first album in 10 years, The Physical Worldpress for the show says the band will enter the Blue Room “with ten years of lost time to recover and a fresh perspective.”

Tickets for the gig are on-sale now for only $10 via the Third Man Records store. There’s no word yet on when the live album will see release

In the past, Melvins, Mudhoney, Divine Fits, The Shins, The Kills, and Jenny Lewis have all recorded live albums at Third Man Records. Most of the LPs remain available here.
