Foo Fighters cancel more tour dates, Glastonbury performance

on June 16, 2015, 4:58pm

As cool as it was to witness Dave Grohl perform a concert with a broken leg, the injury has had serious repercussions. After undergoing surgery on Monday, doctors ordered Grohl to take an indefinite break from the road. As a result, Foo Fighters have canceled the remainder of the UK and European tour, including festival performances at Glastonbury and Rock Werchter.

It’s unclear if Foo Fighters’ American leg will also be affected.  “Dave’s full recuperation time is still to be determined,” notes the press release.

Update: In a posting on the band’s website, Grohl recounts the events of the last few days and discusses the extent of his injuries.

“So….here I am, recovering with 6 metal screws in my leg, thinking about a lifetime of holding up TSA lines from here to Kalamazoo….damn.

“Here’s the not so witty bit…….My doctors have advised me to lay low for a while. The most important thing now is for me to recover from the surgery, to keep my leg elevated so as to keep swelling down and prevent any infection/complication that could do long term damage. I’m not out of the woods yet, folks…”

Grohl concluded his message by writing, “PS…….Kanye…..Imma let you have this one…..,” a reference to Glastonbury’s other headliner, Kanye West. Read the letter in full here.
