Deen Castronovo, drummer for the band Journey since 1998, was arrested in Salem, Oregon earlier this month on charges of domestic violence. Originally released on bail, Castronovo is now back behind bars and charged with raping his wife.
Local news site KOIN6 reports that it’s unknown whether this new charge is connected to the previous one or if it’s an entirely new incident. Either way, rape in the first degree isn’t the only accusation Castronovo’s facing; he’s also being charged with “unlawful use of a weapon, two counts of menacing… one count of sexual abuse in the second degree, four counts of assault in the fourth degree and one count of assault in the second degree, one count of coercion and one count of criminal mischief in the second degree.”
According to TMZ, Castronovo is being held without bail and is due in court later today to enter a plea. Following his initial arrest, Journey replaced the drummer with Omar Hakim for their upcoming handful of tour dates.
