Royal Headache dropped its self-titled debut back in 2012, an album that nearly destroyed the Sydney four-piece from the inside out. Now, the band’s back for round two with sophomore LP, High, due out on August 21st through What’s Your Rupture?. The 10-track effort sees Royal Headache expanding on the rollicking garage rock of its debut, while also incorporating the “romance” of pop music.

A press release reads:

If their first album was akin to a courtship, think of High as the romance. Not just on the level of two people falling in love, but a romance with the qualities of pop music that make Royal Headache who they are and inform what they do: eternal optimism, wistful beauty and interlocking presentation that evolves from four guys singing on a street corner to speed-addled rock, and all the brightness and darkness in between, teetering between stability and chaos and well-aware of how unsteady their footing might be.

In anticipation of High’s release, the Aussie native have let loose the title track, a scruffy but lovable number about sticking with the one whose affection often tastes like a euphoric trip. Check it out below.
