If you haven’t already been completely turned off by the terrible plot and spoiler-riddled trailer of Terminator Genisys, this new tidbit could just be the last straw: the forthcoming film has quietly been tagged with a lukewarm PG-13 rating.
The fifth installment in the Terminator franchise follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, 2009’s Terminator Salvation. The first three touted R ratings. As Reddit points out, Genisys’ grading stems from “intense sequences of sci-fi violence and gunplay throughout, partial nudity and brief strong language.”
For movies with inoffensive PG-13 ratings the almighty Motion Picture Association of America says that “parents are urged to be cautious. Some material may be inappropriate for pre-teenagers.” So, basically expect a tad of skin, a couple of guns, and maybe an exclamatory “Fuck!” or two.
