Watch Robin Williams’ final on-screen performance in trailer for Boulevard

on June 18, 2015, 1:25pm

For his final role, Robin Williams voiced a talking dog in Terry Jones’ Absolutely Anything, which hits theaters this August. His final on-screen performance, however, bows a month earlier when Boulevard opens on July 17th. The trailer for Boulevard has premiered online — watch it below.

Williams takes on the dramatic role of Nolan Mack, “a married but closeted 60 year-old bank employee whose life changes in unexpected ways after recklessly picking up a young male hustler.” Some of the lines in the trailer strike a sorrowfully realistic chord with what we know of the beloved actor’s final days, but perhaps that’s why the performance looks to be such a powerful one.

Directed by Dito Montiel (A Guide to Recognizing You Saints, Fighting) from a script by Douglas Soesbe, Boulevard also stars Kathy Baker, Bob Odenkirk, and Roberto Aguire.
