on June 16, 2015, 4:05pm

Activision and FreeStyleGames are bringing back the Guitar Hero franchise in a big way. This fall, they’ll release Guitar Hero Live on Xbox One and 360, Playstation 3 and 4, Nintendo Wii U, and mobile platforms.

The game will feature two play modes. In the “Live” mode, footages of actual crowds and bandmates will actually respond to how well you play, booing or cheering as appropriate. While that mode will feature songs by The Black Keys, The War on Drugs, Alt-J, Sleigh Bells, System of a Down, The Rolling Stones, and even Skrillex, the “TV” mode will offer even more options.

“GHTV” is being touted as the “world’s first playable music video network.” The continually updated network will include hundreds of music videos from across genres, all broken into channels. Choose a channel, and you’ll play along to about 18-20 minutes worth of curated music.

You can take on challenges to unlock on-demand songs, playable concerts, and more. There’s a co-op mode, as well as online competitions. Based on the trailer, “GHTV” will feature videos from The Strokes, Bob Dylan, Iggy Pop, Rage Against the Machine, Korn, Green Day, ZZ Top, Carrie Underwood, Bruno Mars, Band of Skulls, and more.
