Wolf Alice unveils new song “You’re A Germ” — listen

on June 09, 2015, 2:30pm

Wolf Alice is creeping closer and closer to the highly-anticipated release of My Love Is Cool, due out June 23rd through Dirty Hit/RCA Records. Thus far, the band has previewed its debut LP by streaming “Moaning Lisa Smile”“Giant Peach”, and “Bros”. Now, they’ve unveiled yet another album cut with “You’re A Germ”.

“You’re A Germ” continues to showcase the alternative outfit’s immaculate balance of pop senses and grittier rock sensations. It builds off droll lyrical delivery and a rhythm that pumps like bile through thick blood. Then it all rips open on the bratty chorus, with singer Ellie Rowsell splitting her voice as she demands, “Where’s mum and dad so you can tell them/ You’re a dodgey fucker as well?” As she’s supported by her bandmates belting, “Eyes wide! Eyes wide!”, you can imagine how this track has become a concert favorite.

“‘You’re A Germ’ has always been a live fave,” bassist Theo Ellis tells Consequence of Sound,. “It was the spark to some of our first mosh pits and holds a solid place in our hearts as one of our older songs. Hope you guys enjoy it as much as we do playing it. Big up.”
