Bon Iver debuts two new songs during first live performance in three years — watch

on July 19, 2015, 11:10am

In the lead up to his Eaux Claires Music Festival, Justin Vernon gave mixed signals over the future of Bon Iver. In an interview taking place in May, Vernon said the festival was “the perfect platform for us to be like, this is how we’re starting this new cycle, new life of the band.” However, in a separate interview from earlier this month, Vernon maintained he had no plans for a new album or tour beyond the band’s Eaux Claires headlining performance.

But when it came time for Bon Iver to hit the Eaux Claires stage, which marked their first live performance in nearly three years, Vernon came prepared with two brand new songs. Neither has a title yet, nor do we know their origins. Watch fan-shot performance footage below.

In addition to performing with Bon Iver, Vernon joined The National on the stage during their own set on Friday night.
