Peaches and Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Nick Zinner join forces for “Bodyline” — listen

on July 20, 2015, 11:50am

When Peaches set to work on her first album in six years, the forthcoming Rub, she reached out to some talented friends. While folks like Kim Gordon and Feist made it on the record, others just didn’t fit the vibe.

“We tried some guitar, actually,” Peaches told Australia’s The Vine back in March. “Nick Zinner from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, he came over and did some incredible work with us but, I don’t know, it just didn’t work. Not what he did but I was much more into a minimal feel.”

But while Zinner won’t feature on Rub, he did team with Peaches for the latest track from the Adult Swim Singles series contribution. On “Bodyline”, the YYYs guitarist slams down a heavy, chugging guitar line over which Peaches half raps, half sings a high-octane space jam championing the ideal of staying true to yourself. “”I will always follow what is moving through my bodyline,” she sings, almost like a rallying chant. “I could never hold onto something that doesn’t stick inside.” Take a listen below:

Other Adult Swim Singles from this year include tracks from SwervedriverYung Lean, and Owen Pallett. Upcoming weeks will bring new music from the likes of Flying Lotus, Slayer, a SOPHIE remix of a Sia song, and Run the Jewels. Stay tuned for these releases and more. You can also download the tracks for free via Adult Swim.
