Before year’s end, Prince will release The Hit & Run Album. The Purple One’s 34th LP to date was recorded with the “super hardcore Prince fans” in mind, as his band 3rdEyeGirl explained in an interview with BBC 6 Music.
“This album is absolutely for them, because it’s super funky. It’s weird, there’s a lot of experimental sound. It’s just hit after hit and definitely caters to those fans who just love to hear what Prince has to say, rather than wanting to always hear that classic Purple Rain Prince sound.”
In addition to the stellar rock ‘n’ roll anthem “HARDROCKLOVER”, the album contains a new version of “This Could Be Us”, originally released on last year’s Art Official Age, as well as an unreleased deep cut called “1,000 Hugs and Kisses”.
The Hit & Run Album follows Prince’s pair of 2014 LPs, Art Official Age and Plectrumelectrum.
