Good news, everyone: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are reuniting on the silver screen once again for a film that’s not a sequel to Doug Liman’s 2006 action rom com Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Rather, it’s for Jolie’s directorial follow-up to last year’s Unbroken.
Written and directed by the Girl, Interrupted star, By the Sea is a drama set in the ’70s about an American writer (Pitt) and his wife (Jolie) who abscond to a French seaside resort in an effort to escape (or fix?) their marital problems.
Also starring Mélanie Laurent, Niels Arestrup, Melvil Poupaud, and Richard Bohringer, the film was classically shot using lots of natural light by Austrian cinematographer Christian Berger (The White Ribbon). You can tell just by watching the trailer below.
