Brazilian radio DJ shot and killed live on air

on August 10, 2015, 1:25pm

A popular Brazilian radio DJ named Gleydson Carvalho was recently shot and killed live on air.

According to reports, two gunmen entered the studios of Liberdade FM in Camocin on Thursday afternoon. They fired five shots at Carvalho, three to his head and twice in the chest. The gunmen then fled the studio on a motorcycle, but were later aprehended by police.

Though he DJ’ed for a popular music station, Carvalho frequently used his show to speak out against local government corruption. It’s believed politics had a hand in Carvalho’s death.
