The Zombies announce new album Still Got That Hunger

on August 07, 2015, 1:50pm

The Zombies are ready to drop into place the final piece of their recent resurgence. Following an appearance at South by Southwest, a nomination for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and a US tour featuring a full performance of their classic album Odessey & Oracle, the legendary rock outfit has just announced the release of a new record, Still Got That Hunger, the band’s first in four years.

Produced by Chris Potter (Rolling Stones’ Steel Wheels, The Verve’s Urban Hymns), the album will be released on October 9th via the band’s new label home, The End Records. “We’re really excited to be signing our new album to The End Records,” says keyboardist Rod Argent in a press release. “It somehow seems fitting that it should be released on a Brooklyn based label, as our very first American concerts way back in 1964 took place at The Brooklyn Fox Theatre!”

As previously announced, the surviving members of the band’s Odessey & Oracle-era lineup — Argent, singer Colin Blunstone, bassist Chris White and drummer Hugh Grundyis — are reuniting for a tour to perform their masterpiece in full. However, with the announcement of this new album comes word that the band’s current lineup, featuring bassist Jim Rodford (formerly of ARGENT and The Kinks), Rodford’s son and drummer Steve Rodford, and guitarist Tom Toomey, will also be on hand at the shows to perform material from Still Got That Hunger.
