Aphex Twin shares new AFX song “umil 25-01” — listen

on September 04, 2015, 12:30pm

Late last month, Aphex Twin unearthed his AFX moniker for the first time in nearly a decade with his Orphaned Deejay Selek (2006-2008) EP. The follow-up to Chosen Lords, a compilation collecting his vinyl-only Analord series that ran from 2003 to 2005, the EP featured a bonus song called “umil 25-01” that was previously only available for Bleep purchasers. That is until today.

AFX, born Richard D. James, has shared it on various streaming platforms for all to hear. Listen to the glitchy number below.

Orphaned Deejay Selek is just one of many of James’ projects from the last 12 months. The (formerly) elusive producer not only dropped his first Aphex Twin album in 13 years, SYRO, but also released a treasure trove of unreleased music on SoundCloud, a 20-track synth LP, and his Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments Pt. 2 EP.
