This fall will see a full-scale Mac Miller tour behind his first major label album, GO:OD AM, but this week is bringing a series of smaller record release shows. The presentation is scaled back (i.e. no band, just Mac and a DJ), but Miller thrives as an entertainer in any environment. Tuesday night at the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood saw the sold-out venue packed near the front of the room and hardly anyone populating the bar area or the outside smoking patio, his young fans unwilling to miss a moment of the action.
Though this isn’t likely the same show that will tour the country in the coming months, Miller made it a night to remember, bringing out Miguel to perform their new song, “Weekend”, while mixing in plenty of new material along with the tried-and-true favorites.
