Run the Jewels unveil Meow the Jewels track “Oh My Darling (Don’t Meow)” — listen

on September 17, 2015, 4:25pm

Last July, Run the Jewels offered the first preview of their highly anticipated remix album Meow the Jewels in the form of “Meowrly”, a feline-assisted take on Run the Jewels 2 cut “Early”. Now, the hip-hop duo has unleashed another track of kitty beats: “Oh My Darling Don’t Meow”, remixed with some help from Just Blaze.

The transformed version of “Oh My Darling Don’t Cry” sees Blaze getting in trouble with some ornery cats who have invaded his home. “What do you mean, don’t cry?” he pleads as the kitties unsheath their claws.

According to the Soundcloud description, the track is “a little something to tide you over while we prepare next week’s release announcement.” Stream it below, and head to Run the Jewels’ website for a free download.

The crowdfunded remix album (featuring beats made entirely from cat sounds) should emerge by the end of the month. From the looks of it, MtJ could be out as early as next week. It’s a good thing, too, given how many more remix records El-P and Killer Mike have to get cracking on for their new contract with Stephen Colbert.
