As far as outdoor music venues go, you really can’t get much better than Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado. Described as the “only naturally-occurring, acoustically perfect amphitheater in the world,” with beautiful geological wonders surrounding you on every side, there’s a natural trippiness to the whole place. Which, when you think about it, makes it the perfect place for a My Morning Jacket show. The band recently played there in support of The Waterfall, with director/photographer Danny Clinch directing a live stream of the concert. Realizing the the footage would also make a pretty great music video, they cut it together for “Compound Fracture”.
“The spirit and electricity we felt playing at Red Rocks was one of the most magical experiences we’ve ever had,” MMJ said in a statement. “Having our friend Danny [Clinch] and TourGigs there to capture that moment was something we treasure – now we’re so excited to be able to share that special night with everyone through this video.”
