Jenny Lewis was one of the featured performers at the Trans-Pecos Festival of Music and Love in Marfa, Texas over the weekend. The almost-border city is just a short seven-and-a-half hour drive from St. Vincent’s hometown of Dallas, so Lewis called in her friend Annie Clark as a surprise special guest.
Together, Lewis and Clark (yep) ran through a number of the former’s songs, including new number “Girl on Girl” (with Clark on guitar), which she originally debuted with HAIM earlier in the year. St. Vincent also sat back on drums for The Voyager track “Just One of the Guys”, and delivered her own “Cheerleader”. As a knockout finale, the two singers teamed up for a cover of Deee-Lite’s disco classic “Groove is in the Heart”. Watch fan-shot video of the performance (via fuckyeahstvincent), and a clip of Clark and Lewis’ band rehearsing.
